Information Technology
In almost every industry and sector around the globe, Information Technology is playing a major role in development. As such, having computing and I.T. knowledge is now an in-demand skill set for the modern job candidate - regardless of whether you will pursue a career in the Information Technology sector or not.
At Auckland Institute of Studies, we understand where the recruitment world is heading and have designed a number of Information Technology programmes to give graduates the best chance in the competitive job market. Incorporating both hands-on training and theoretical knowledge, the programmes ensure graduates have skills that global employers are looking for in the years ahead. Under the supervision of our experienced staff and regular industry visits, our Information Technology Programmes can add value to any C.V. or job application.
All IT students are issued with their own laptop and receive free Microsoft software.
Programmes available:
7.300 Bachelor of Information Technology
For students that want a career in software development, programming and project management, the Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT) might be the best programme. Designed to prepare students across a number of I.T. sub-disciplines, students learn the necessary skills to become true leaders in the I.T. field. Students have the opportunity to select a specialisation from the following; Software Development, Computer Networks and Information Systems.
7.400 Graduate Diploma in Information Technology
If you have completed a bachelor's degree in a non-I.T. field, but are looking to advance in a particular field of I.T., then consider the Graduate Diploma in Information Technology (GDIT). Supporting such careers as systems analyst, project manager or network technician, this programme can offer the base of IT knowledge to complement any degree.
Students select eight courses from one of three specialist topics including Software Development, Computer Networks and Information Systems.
7.500 Postgraduate Diploma in Information Technology
Students that are looking to gain employment at higher-than entry-level positions or wanting to begin a career in research will be interested in our Postgraduate Diploma in Information Technology (PGDIT) which has been designed to fill a gap in the global I.T. skills shortage and make graduates highly employable. The PGDIT has three specialist topics as well as three flexible completion pathways.
