Licence Controller Training (LCQ) (Level 4)

The Licence Controller Training (LCQ) (Level 4) is a short two-day programme that covers the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act (2012) and its implications for licensed premises, and host responsibility requirements as a duty manager of licensed premises.

LCQ is the approved prerequisite qualification for holding a Duty/General Manager's Certificate.

By law, every hospitality business that sells alcohol must have a properly qualified duty manager in charge at all times. The prescribed qualification is the Licence Controller Training (LCQ) (Level 4) and it must be held by people applying for or renewing their manager’s certificate in order to demonstrate recent and relevant training as set out in the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act (2012).
