How To Apply

  1. 01. Do It Online.

    • Register and Apply in our portal. You'll need to use Programme Search to find your desired programme of study and Start Date, then click Apply, register and complete the application. The process takes about 10 minutes.

    • Alternatively, you can complete the Application Form in your enrolment pack and enclose or attach the required documentation.
  2. 02. Acknowledgement.

    • You will receive confirmation that we have received your application.
    • If we need any further information from you we will let you know.
    • You can track the progress of your application at http://portal.ais.ac.nz
  3. 03. Offer Of Place.

    • Upon meeting all entry requirements, we will send you an Offer of Place and a Quotation. Applications that are complete and meet all the requirements will receive an offer within one working day.
    • If you are an international student, you will require the Offer of Place for your visa application.
  4. 04. Confirmation.

    • Upon payment, we will send a Receipt and Confirmation of Enrolment.
    • Bookings for the AIS dormitory, homestay and airport pick-up services must be made at least two weeks in advance of arrival in Auckland. Accommodation is subject to availability.

For International Students

  1. Students from China, Vietnam, the Indian Subcontinent, Turkey and the Middle East are recommended to apply for ‘Pre-Visa Assessment’ at an Immigration New Zealand office before paying programme fees. In order to obtain your student visa, you will need to show our Receipt and Confirmation of Enrolment after you have received “Approval in Principle” from Immigration New Zealand.
  2. Send or take your passport, your Confirmation of Enrolment, Receipt, and other documentation required to the nearest Immigration New Zealand office to apply for a student visa. International students already in New Zealand can apply at the Online Visa Office at the AIS St Helens Campus.
  3. After receiving your passport with your student visa issued, please inform the Student Services - Market Manager named in your Offer of Place immediately and advise your travel details.
  4. Upon arrival in Auckland, contact your Student Services - Market Manager to arrange your orientation and course enrolment.

For Domestic Students

  1. Qualifying students should apply online to StudyLink for student loans and allowances where required.
  2. When you arrive at AIS, ask one of our Student Services - Market Managers for any further help you might need.

General Forms for Students

Bookings for the AIS dormitory, homestay and airport pick-up services must be made at least two weeks in advance of arrival in Auckland.

If you are under 18 year of age, your parent or guardian must complete the Under 18s Consent Form.

Enrolment applications from international students are handled by AIS International Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Auckland Institute of Studies Ltd. AIS contracts AIS International to undertake its international marketing. For international students enrolling at AIS for the first time, an international assistance fee is included in the tuition fees.
